Meet Jason
Dr. Jason S. Ellis brings over 20 years of immunology expertise to his work as Product Manager at Akadeum Life Sciences. He oversees the entire lifecycle of Akadeum’s microbubble separation platform products—including product discovery, positioning, and leading Akadeum’s product development teams.
About
Understanding the challenges faced by young scientists, Jason dedicates his free time to serving on advisory boards for multiple youth and young professional organizations. Specifically, his involvement with the Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Chemistry Fraternity has seen him hold positions on the national board of directors and serve as a Professional Representative at large, aiding collegiate members in their professional journeys.
On his decision to join Akadeum, Jason shares, “Akadeum is uniquely positioned to improve the cell therapy space. After nearly two decades of basic science research, I felt the need to do work that would more directly help patients. While we’re not the ones producing cell-based cancer therapies, we have the unique capability to aid others in creating better, more accessible treatments.”
Areas of Expertise
Jason specializes in immunology with a keen focus on T cell-mediated immunity, allergy, asthma, and autoimmunity. Thanks to his two decades of experience in cellular immunology, he is adept at a wide variety of cell-sorting techniques. Prior to his role at Akadeum, he served as a valued faculty member at the University of Michigan School of Medicine and University of Missouri with numerous publications and grants (NIH/DOD) awarded in posttranscriptional regulation of the immune system and T cell memory.
Education
Dr. Ellis earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Microbiology & Immunology in 2009 and B.S. in Biochemistry in 2000, both from the University of Missouri.
