Meet Dominique

Dr. Dominique Gales-Badea is a dedicated field application scientist at Akadeum Life Sciences. In this role, she works closely with account executives, engaging with potential customers and ensuring they receive comprehensive training on the Akadeum portfolio. Her responsibilities include troubleshooting technical issues, devising tailored solutions for research challenges, and developing applications for various products.

About

Dominique’s professional journey began at Metaclipse Therapeutics as a Research Scientist. She later moved to Terumo BCT, honing her skills as a Field Application Scientist and engaging in diverse cell and gene therapy collaborations.

Beyond her professional roles, Dominique is passionate about STEM education and mentoring students through outreach programs. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing basketball and cooking in her free time.

She remarks on her professional drive, “I’ve always had a strong desire to have a positive impact on people. Working in biotech allows me to use my skills in a way that drives real change. As a member of Akadeum’s team, I have the opportunity to significantly influence global health.”

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Gales-Badea is a specialist in cancer biology, with particular emphasis on prostate, breast, and colon cancers. With eight years of innovative research experience in oncology, she has a broad knowledge base and has embraced diverse roles in the scientific discipline.

Education

Dr. Gales-Badea earned her Bachelor of Science (2009), Master of Science (2012), and Doctorate (2017) in Biology and Integrative Biosciences from Alabama’s Tuskegee University.
