Dr. Rychak graduated from the University of Virginia with a major in Engineering Science and Minor in Philosophy. He completed a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from U.Va, with subsequent post-doctoral training in inflammation biology. Dr. Rychak was a co-founder of Targeson where he led the development of various microbubble-based platforms for cell processing, molecular imaging, and gene therapy. He has served as a consultant for a number of companies in the molecular imaging and drug delivery space, with a particular focus on particle-based technologies. Dr. Rychak was an Affiliate Professor of Bioengineering at UCSD from 2011-2018. Since 2018 he has been the Director of Nanotechnology at Poseida Therapeutics, where he leads various particle-based programs for cell and gene therapy.
