Job Description

Akadeum is seeking a dynamic Senior Sales Manager who will drive growth of the research use kit sales, future products that will be released, and product applications. This individual will be field-based, selling individually and serving as a mentor to other sales representatives.

The Senior Sales Manager will provide feedback to the CEO on vision and execution of how to create and focus revenue for Akadeum. This individual will be the internal strategist for driving cross-functional sales support and external spokesperson for how the company interfaces with its customers to drive current and future growth.

As Senior Sales Manager, you will be expected to have extremely strong reagent sales expertise, combined with the ability to quickly succeed at a strategic, tactical and operational level. You will bring outstanding internal and external communication skills, leadership and an inclusive proactive approach, to help drive user adoption, new applications and revenue.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create, close and grow accounts.
  • Serve as guide to others to help them successfully meet sales goals
  • Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, leverage own extensive network, set up meetings with potential customers, manage revenue growth opportunities
  • Prove out new customer application areas, through beta and early access programs, providing feedback to launch teams
  • Use customer discovery and voice of customer best practices to work with development and marketing to refine messaging, deliver needed collateral and inform product pipeline and development
  • Work closely with CEO on the sales process, providing feedback to inform forecast and paths for growth of customers and revenue, budget for sales and resource use
  • Work directly with marketing to develop and refine focused digital marketing campaigns to drive users
  • Coordinate with operations on sales forecast and inventory
  • Develop collaborative working relationships within the organization in pursuit of the of the company’s overall business goals
  • Participation on behalf of company at conferences and exhibits

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies and forecasting in early-stage life science companies, growing sales, margin and market share
  • Strong, demonstrated strategic thinking skills, think creatively and develop non-traditional solutions
  • Established connections with researchers across industry and government
  • Excellent sales, key account and channel management, particularly in cell separation, immunology, cancer research and molecular biology reagent space, along with ability to work and deliver independently
  • Ability to identify new product opportunities and applications, understand voice of customer and work with customers to position Akadeum technology
  • Understanding of marketing to help inform targeted campaigns for your audience
  • Ability and willingness to be a hands-on leader and team player who works well with technical teams to prioritize and accelerate projects and new products to market
  • Must be ambitious yet thoughtful in engagement with researchers to place kits, and highly regarded by customers
