Job Description

This key marketing role is responsible for the commercial success of current and future product of the Akadeum’s microbubble separation platform.

The product manager will own all aspects of the product lifecycle of Akadeum’s cell isolation kits and future product lines. The individual will be the conduit of R&D, sales, marketing and operations to bring competitive, cost-effective products to the life science market. You will be expected to understand and be able to balance product development, marketing strategies, competitive diligence and cost considerations, along with other product management knowledge areas. This individual will be the internal strategist and coordinator of product lines, and external data gatherer and champion of Akadeum products.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Translate strategy into detailed product requirements and user-driven value propositions.
  • Identify and define new product market opportunities, conduct market research and voice of customer activities to accomplish best-in-class product-market fit
  • Drive new product launches in coordination with other Akadeum team members, leveraging customer, R&D and market data to drive decisions on development
  • Work closely with beta, early access users, or customers to establish product-market fit
  • Work closely with R&D and Manufacturing to deliver optimum time-to-market and resource planning, quality, margin improvements and cost reductions
  • Lead all product management aspects associated with product design, development, pricing, market introduction, sales tools and training, and promotional plans
  • Develop product pricing, positioning and messaging strategies
  • Evaluate product promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with revenue goals
  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and drive adoption
  • Monitor and assess competitors, develop and implement proactive strategies to strengthen product line competitive edge
  • Evaluate products for obsolescence or improvement
  • Provide forecasting input to operations and continually analyze the financial performance of the product portfolio through sales trends, pricing trends and price-volume trends.
  • Support marketing in development of collateral and protocols


  • High energy, motivated and flexible individual who can communicate effectively and generate results cross-functionally in a dynamic early stage company.
  • Proven track record of successful Product Management in the Life Science market.
  • Proven record of managing all aspects of a successful end to end product lifecycle, including familiarity with agile development methodology and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Proven ability to develop product road maps and marketing strategies and effectively communicate the value proposition and product features to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in the Life Science market.
  • Excellent organization, communication and presentation skills, including strong active listening skills and customer-oriented mindset and approachability.
  • Project management ability of multiple projects and tasks concurrently, with strong attention to timelines and performance metrics, and ability to think critically to overcome hurdles.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms required.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Minimum 3 years of successful product management experience in the life sciences.
  • Bachelor’s degree in the Life Sciences or equivalent proven experience required.
  • Commercial (sales and marketing) background in the life sciences
