Job Description

Sometimes the first impression people have of Akadeum is the experience of opening up a box containing the kit they ordered. The Logistics Manager has the opportunity to ensure this is the best possible experience, and set the tone for engaging with Akadeum. This individual will be the lead for all picking, packing and shipping operations for Akadeum. The ideal candidate possesses deep knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations for life science reagents. When things do go sideways in transit, the logistics manager makes resolution a top priority, because furthering research hangs in the balance. Cold chain shipping, and temperature solutions, are a breeze for the Logistics Manager. Proactive engagement with manufacturing and vendors is critical, to ensure inventory is on the shelf, components to enable shipping in stock and optimal pricing is conferred.

  • Pick, pack and ship kits and consumables
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing to ensure inventory is on the shelf
  • Engage customs and international shipping representatives to ensure all pertinent shipping information in advance of shipment
  • Assist customs, customers and partners in resolution of customs issues
  • Work closely with accounting, customer service, operations, to process orders
  • Engage with vendors to optimize rates and pricing for shipping components
  • Maintain inventory of shipping and packing materials
  • Support partnerships by managing rotator program and providing solutions to support regulated shipments
  • Manage equipment in logistics


  • Experience in cold chain shipping of life science reagents
  • Understanding of international shipping regulations
  • Proactive attitude and reliability to catch customs issues before they arise and immediate response when they do
  • Familiarity with shipping to regulated customers
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Flexibility to help get product, equipment in the hands of partners and customers quickly
  • Comfortable working in a quality-regulated environment
