Job Description

Akadeum is seeking a Marketing Leader who will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing the company’s overall marketing strategy (with a strong emphasis on digital marketing). As Director of Marketing, you will be required to oversee the generation of high-value content to drive qualified website traffic and generate leads that support sales conversions. You will lead efforts to quickly ensure the commercial team has proper support and marketing materials, grow brand awareness, monitor the competition, and support the R&D pipeline with market analysis. You will also work on and oversee the marketing aspects of new products released by Akadeum.

In addition to outstanding marketing skills, the perfect candidate for this position will possess a strong initiative and enthusiasm for life science innovation and support of sales teams. You will be expected to run with the exciting results coming out of R&D—creating sales collateral and website content to help drive revenue. As no stranger to stepping in and helping the overall team, your hands-on attitude will help to drive key results, and will show that you possess the skills required to lead and grow a team.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive overall marketing strategy, identifying potential/existing customers, markets, and needs, with an emphasis on digital marketing efforts
  • Plan and support execution of all web, SEO, email, social media, advertising, and demand generation marketing programs to grow sales pipeline
  • Oversee branding and marketing related activities associate with the launch of new products
  • Drive brand awareness and management
  • Manage and integrate with third-party digital marketing firm and marketing budget
  • Develop measurable marketing goals, and report performance of all marketing efforts against goals
  • Monitor the competition, identify trends and insights, and optimize performance based on insights
  • Collaborate internally and externally to develop content, strategy and collateral
  • Evaluate and optimize end-to-end customer experience through the entire marketing funnel, across multiple channels and touch points
  • Support product beta, early access, and launch efforts, in conjunction with the product management leader
  • Conduct market analysis to inform R&D product pipeline and development
  • Ensure sales team is trained on new collateral messaging; respond to sales team feedback and collateral requests quickly and effectively
  • Own conference identification, planning and execution

Qualifications

  • Experience in building and implementing a digital marketing strategy for an early-stage company, preferably life sciences
  • Demonstrable experience leading and managing marketing and improving digitally driven revenue quarter over quarter
  • Proven ability to effectively, efficiently and quickly support a sales organization, including effective lead scoring to help prioritize ideal personas to target and inform marketing efforts
  • Knowledge of CRM systems and familiarity with marketing automation
  • Familiarity with product management and requirements of marketing to place kits in various stages of the launch process
  • Strong desire to move quickly, pivot when needed, and take initiative to solve problems and help the team
  • High level of attention to the details that matter most to customers
  • Highly respected, enthusiastic, and engaging across departments
  • Ability to translate technical material into highly effective messaging, collateral, and content
  • Prior experience working in a technical business setting
