Akadeum’s buoyancy-based cell separation allows for an unique in-bag negative selection protocol that can be easily integrated into workflows that already incorporate cell processing equipment, such as the Cytiva Sepax. A Sepax-integrated workflow with Akadeum technology allows for a closed system process that can be scaled to meet any and all manufacturing needs. Utilizing standard Sepax protocols, Akadeum’s Human T Cell Leukopak Isolation Kit – GMP protocol can be initiated on the Sepax instrument and finished within an output isolation bag of microbubbles to eventually gravity separate out unwanted cells and leaving target T cells remaining in suspension at the bottom of the bag, ready for downstream processing. The subsequent isolation bag can then be returned onto the Sepax for buffer exchange and/or cell washing prior to downstream cell culture, cell cryopreservation, or cell characterization.
