Job Description

Akadeum is a startup company, working to create the simplest separation ever and is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to join our growing team. Akadeum produces floating microbubbles with surface chemistries for different types of cell and molecular separations.

Duties will include following standard operating procedures, preparing buffers, carrying out conjugation chemistries, bottling product, shipping and documentation. The role may also include additional duties as required to support company growth and operations. We are looking for a highly meticulous, self-organized and motivated candidate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced setting both as part of a team and independently.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture of reagents for cell separation kits in a GMP environment, inclusive of bottle and tube labeling and filling
  • Commitment to production of high quality kit components and kits in a repeatable fashion
  • Assist the manufacturing team in incorporating new protocols, procedures for manufacturing, scale-up and products
  • Perform requested tests, analyzing any relevant data, and reporting metrics/data from manufacturing
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe facility
  • Ensure orders are filled in a timely manner and assist with shipping product
  • Completion of all necessary documentation in a regulated environment and timely manner
  • Labeling and filling of demo bottles for conferences and external presentations
  • Managing inventory levels, recording and reporting of inventory used in manufacturing process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, life sciences
  • Sufficient laboratory experience to work independently in lab following minimal training
  • Ability and desire to follow all processes without deviating from standard procedures
  • Excellent time management abilities and comfortable juggling multiple tasks at once
  • Experience and aptitude to follow all existing and future safety requirements
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory tasks, including preparing buffers, centrifugation, filtration, use of pipettes, handling of organic solvents and comfortable working in a chemical hood and biosafety cabinet
  • Excellent record keeping skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Desire and ability to cross-functionally collaborate to meet company goals and objectives
