We are seeking a Field Applications Scientist to help drive support and adoption of Akadeum products in a highly technical field. As the FAS, you will spend a lot of time on the road ensuring successful product adoption by providing training and support to researchers, identifying potential collaborations and keeping a keen eye out for new opportunities to place Akadeum kits.  Your abilities are also needed for hosting microbubble seminars, demos and webinars.

  • Provide in-field technical support and product guidance in a timely manner to customers
  • Travel to customer sites for in-lab demos, training, seminars and troubleshooting
  • Work closely with internal teams to troubleshoot customer results and provide feedback to sales team
  • Foster collaborations between Akadeum and researchers
  • Be the voice of the customer to internal teams, inclusive of new product development, quality and marketing
  • Assist in review and generation of technical literature and training resources, and lead webinars
  • Assist quality with customer complaint handling
  • Identify new opportunities for Akadeum products or new application areas


  • Experience in the field applications scientist or technical sales role preferred
  • Flow cytometry experience is required
  • An ability and desire to relate to fellow scientists, both via remote and in-person communication
  • Technical fortitude: in particular, knowledge and laboratory experience in the immunology and cell separation space along with downstream applications
  • Ability to convey complex material in a clear manner, relate product to researcher need and troubleshoot on the fly
  • Proven record of cross-functional engagement to accomplish tasks in a timely and effective manner
  • Ability to translate the voice of the customer into actionable items for internal teams
  • Comfortable with routine use of CRM software
  • Desire to travel, as this position will require much time on the road in front of customers
  • Top tier problem solving and interpersonal skills, excellent time management, multi-tasking ability and organizational skills
