Job Description

The Business Development Account Manager position plays a key role in managing closed partner accounts and return business to support growth in diagnostic, RUO and cell therapy partnerships. This position also helps with identifying new opportunities, facilitating successful completion of projects and support of commercialization stages of partnerships. The Account Manager is the go-to for the partnerships team, relied upon to be the internal champion to advance projects through development and the external champion to support partners with their commercial deals. This individual has a love of new, disruptive technologies and enjoys hunting new opportunities that would benefit from Akadeum’s technology.

  • Ensure partner relationships are successful in order to secure follow on project/partner revenue
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and advocate for resources to advance partnership projects through development and shipment of materials to partner
  • First line technical support of partnership, and subsequent coordination of applications team and/or R&D for further technical support
  • Support commercial deals with coordination on forecasts, POs, manufacturing and shipping
  • Identify new partnership opportunities in RUO, diagnostics and cell therapy; initiate engagement to determine potential and make introduction to partnerships team
  • Attend partner conferences and visit partners as needed
  • Competitive intelligence gathering in diagnostic and cell therapy space
  • Engage marketing team with focused content to drive lead generation activities


  • Demonstrated ability to manage accounts to grow business
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Ability to spark engagement and deliver compelling yet succinct technical message
  • Experience in the life sciences industry, commercial experience preferred
  • Knowledge of cell separation, cell therapy, diagnostics markets
  • Highly effective at communication, both externally and internally, cross-functionally; strong listening skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, strong capability to adhere to timelines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, including flexibility with schedule and function
  • Degree in life sciences
